SILVER SCROLLS: Congratulations and respect!

Just a quick note to say CONGRATULATIONS to all the finalists and winners from this weeks celebration of New Zealand songwriters at the APRA Silver Scrolls.

Also big ups to the performers on the night. We were welcomed with a performance of OMC's How Bizarre from musicians featuring Aaradhna, Ermehn, Malcolm Lakatani, Miguel Fuentes just to name a few... trying to hold back the tears from such a powerful performance of a pop classic song arranged by the talented Mathew Faiumu Salapu not forgetting to mention the choir - it was DOPE! You should keep an ear out for this brother whom also goes by the name ANONYMOUZ. Another highlight of the performances was The Exiles featuring Maisey Rika... it was a bloody good night. Thanks to this years musical director Karl Stevens.

Of course my boy, maitreya taking out the Maioha Award for his maori version of Sin City which has been free for download since Maori Language Week - too much Jamie!

You can check the brothers website to link to his FREE download of waiata maori - keep an eye on this boy - he is committed and dedicated and ILL. If that doesn't impress you THEN take note that he was the first and only rap artist (until Public Enemy did very recently) to manage to raise money ($50,000USD) through fan support (sellaband) to produce his LP. Yeah...like I said, keep an eye out for maitreya! Teremoana.
